Black Conservatives: Liberals Hijacked Civil Rights Movement

Veterans of the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 60s are now calling out liberal Democrats for betraying black voters in exchange for power and money.

Rev. William Owens, founder and president of the Coalition of African-American Pastors, is a strong supporter of President Donald Trump. He authored “A Dream Derailed,” which outlines how blacks are being misled by liberal politicians.

Bill Calhoun, chairman of the non-profit Texas Federation for Republican Outreach, says Bobby Kennedy made a noble effort to help the black community, but his death opened the door for corruption and a decline in conservative, faith-based values in the black community.

“Look at the schools boards around the country. Look at the city councils. They know what's happening in those schools and in those city council districts. They know what's happening,” he says. “But they look the other way because there is personal gain for them.”

Calhoun says those leftists who hijacked the Democratic Party are in for a reality check when blacks go to the polls in 2020.

“If the election was held today, Donald Trump, who got eight percent of the black vote in 2016, right now he'd probably get 20 to 25 percent.”

They won't say it publicly, but Calhoun says blacks are realizing they have a job, make more money and are generally better off under Trump.
