Imelda could bring more rain to Houston today; 1-3 inches possible

We could have one last round of rain from Imelda before she finally leaves Houston area.

Imelda dumped 43 inches of rain on parts of Texas, and Nikki Hathaway with the National Weather Service in League City told KTRH she still has a little bit of life left in ter.

"What we are expecting this morning is showers and thunderstorms east of I-45, and then spreading West," Hathaway said.

There is a silver lining to this, Hathaway says.

"Kind of filling in along an area that hasn't been as hard hit these last few days," Hathaway explained. "But the potential is there for the areas that were hit hard to see some more rain. We are definitely not done with the rain yet."

Hathaway says it won't take much to cause more flooding problems for the area.

"It's going to be pretty easy. The soil is very saturated. Any additional rain is only going to exacerbate those areas," Hathaway said.

So, how much rain could we see?

"We are talking anywhere from one to three inches in those stronger storms that do develop today," she stated.
