Houston Police say there was an officer-involved shooting in front of an elementary school earlier this morning.
According to HPD, the officer shot an armed suspect in front of Valley West Elementary School on South Gessner. That suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. The officer that was involved in the shooting was not hurt.
As of now there are no other details that HPD has made public.
HPD has asked that you avoid that area of SW Houston.
