UPDATE: According to Ft. Bend County Deputies, The teenage boy, 16, was shot twice and has since died from his wounds.
ORIGINAL: Fort Bend County Officials say, a teenager was flown to a hospital Thursday afternoon after being shot near William Velasquez Elementary School .
The shooting happened on Macek Road near Tara Drive.
The Sheriff's Office says, the 16-year-old victim was shot in the face and chest and was in very serious condition when he was flown to the hospital.
Deputies say residents reported hearing at least two gunshots.
Detectives are looking for the gunman, and believe the gunman and the victim were acquainted.
Thankfully, school was not in progress.
