Houstonians are some of the most overworked people in the country

If you think you're overworked, you are not alone; especially here in Houston.

New research shows Houston is the second most overworked city in the country behind Washington, DC. The average Houstonian puts in 43.7 hours a week, and only takes nine vacation days a year. Workplace culture expert Joshua Evans says he's not surprised.

"The oil and gas industry, along with the medical industry is known for overworking the people in their industries," Evans explained, adding we should take as much vacation time as we have coming to us.

"It's best for every employee to take time for themselves. It will help your mental health, and your business as well," he stated.

Our commute isn't helping things either. The average commute is just under 30 minutes.
