Governor Abbott Visits El Paso in Wake of Mass Shooting

Today, Governor Greg Abbott says more than $5M will go to El Paso to help piece community back together.

Also, organized roundtables will be held in ATX & El Paso following the weekend's deadly shooting.

He mentioned they'll do more than what was done following the Santa Fe Shooting.

Abbott made the statements Wednesday after meeting with legislators in El Paso about what he described as the "hateful, evil and racist crime."

Abbott says, "Our job is to keep Texans safe."

"We take that job seriously. We will act swiftly and aggressively to achieve it."

A gunman killed nine people in Dayton, Ohio, just 13 hours after the rampage in El Paso.
