A longtime Harris County Sheriff's deputy has been arrested and charged with murder after his wife, who was killed in a shooting over the weekend in southeast Houston.
Deputy Renard Spivey has also done acting work, most notably as the baliff on the TV show "Justice for All with Judge Cristina Perez" from 2012 to 2016.
According to law enforcement, Deputy Spivey called police around 3 a.m. Sunday morning, and said there was an accidental shooting on Briscoe Street. Houston police say the situation involved a domestic disturbance.
Spivey was hit in the leg and his wife Patricia Spivey was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office says it has no record of any domestic violence issues involving Deputy Spivey and his wife. He remains in the hospital.
