Criminal aliens in Houston and around the country can expect ICE agents at their door this weekend.
Agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement are targeting 2,000 illegal aliens with criminal convictions, pending charges or have repeatedly been deported.
“These are people who have refused to abide by these federal orders. It's the most violated federal order I think we have in this country,” Ken Cuccinelli, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, told Fox News' Neil Cavuto this week.
“If there isn't danger they anticipate, you will see much lower level tactics than if they are anticipating the potential for danger, to first of all officer safety and the safety of everybody else involved.”
Cussinelli says local law enforcement is not involved because many of the raids are taking place in well-known 'sanctuary cities'. The raids were canceled last month because leaked information put ICE agents' safety at-risk.
“Certainly for law enforcement officers and agencies that have shown a willingness to actually undermine federal law, that would be a consequence.”
