Honoring George and "Bar"

In College Station today --- a crowd gathered at the George H.W. Bush Presidential Center on the Texas A&M University campus. It was partly a birthday celebration for the 41st president and his wife Barbara and a crowd honoring event. Members of the Bush family were part of the gathering, including at least 12 grandchildren, that laid a wreath on their grave site. Because President Bush, much to his wife's dismay, loved skydiving --- 12 of the grandchildren were scheduled to skydive along with military veterans. Those plans were nixed by weather concerns --- but they all loved being together and praising the long and loving relationship between the two.

The Former First Lady's birthday is June 8. On the President's birthday, June 12, his honorary U.S. Postal stamp was revealed.
