UPDATE: The two Harris County Sheriff's deputies have been released from the hospital.

ORIGINAL: Two Harris County deputies were taken to the hospital after it is suspected that they came into contact with the drug fentanyl in a hotel room.

Three people have been detained as part of the investigation.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says a cleaning crew called 911 late last night after going into a room at the Extended Stay America on N. Sam Houston Parkway.

Deputies responded and found chemicals that are used to make narcotics along with the fentanyl and fake money. They also found printers and equipment that could be used to make fake cash.

The deputies seized the evidence but became sick. They were stabilized and the transported to a hospital.

Three possible suspects, two men and a woman, were found in the room next door, but at this time charges and names have not been released.

The sheriff's office says the scene has been contained, and there was no danger to nearby residents.
