Houston food truck owner killed in robbery, gunmen on the run

Houston police are on the hunt for gunmen they say shot and killed a father and owner of a food truck in southwest Houston last night.

The shooting happened around midnight at the store on South Post Oak and Willomine Way.

According to police the 49-year-old man was leaving the Corner Store when he was ambushed by four men who robbed the man before firing multiple shots. One bullet hit the man in the chest, killing him.

HPD says that family members have told them the man was known to carry money around because he ran a taco truck. That might have put a target on his back.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
