Columbus' Ship Sunk Off the Coast of Texas

Divers are assessing the damage to a replica of Columbus's ship La Niña, which sank in the Corpus Christi marina on Tuesday.

The Spanish-built vessel is the last survivor of the three replica Columbus ships that sailed to Corpus Christi in 1992.

They were a gift to the city for the 500th anniversary of Columbus's first voyage across the Atlantic.

The Columbus Sailing Association helps to maintain the ship, which also sank during Hurricane Harvey.
