Body Found Wrapped Under A Mattress In Southwest Houston

Houston police found a body under a mattress at an apartment and are trying to identify the body who could possibly be a man that's been missing since March.

According to ABC 13, police said that someone who was going to buy the apartment was cleaning it just before midnight Thursday at Club Creek near Woodfair when they smelled a strong odor. At this time, it's unclear if the body is of a woman or man.

Investigators said the apartment is connected to the case of Carlos Rios, a 24-year-old man who was reported missing in March. Rios, at the time, was living in that apartment, which belonged to Jesus Cardenas. Police searched Cardenas' apartment in March when Rios went missing. He was arrested for narcotics and later released. Police are searching for Cardenas since his release but has not been found. They are still investigating Rio's disappearance as a possible homicide.

The Rios family are still searching for him and said he was close to his family and his little girl so leaving without saying anything was something of suspicion.
