K-9 Bites Officer By Mistake After Chase Ends In Southeast Houston

The officer stopped a vehicle around 1 a.m. Monday morning and it suddenly took off again. The driver eventually landed in ditch and hit a couple of poles in a shop lot.

Turns out the car was stolen.

Police shot a pellet bag at the suspect car's window to get the urge the suspect to surrender.

Police were trying to get the driver out and into custody when the K-9 couldn't tell who was who and bit the officer, mistaking him for the suspect. The officer didn't suffer serious injuries.

The suspect is expected to face charges aggravated armed robbery and evading charges.
