Family Dispute Results In Father Dead, Wife, Son Shot In Tomball

A man is dead and two other family members are hospitalized after police say the father pulled a gun and shot his wife and son in Tomball overnight.

It was 10pm Thursday night when emergency units responded to several "shooting" calls to the Tomball Police Department about a home near South Walnut Street and McPhail Street.

Officers who made the scene say they a wife and son were shot multiple times but still alive. Both were transported to the hospital in serious condition.

Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff's Office were searching the area and found the father’s body with a gunshot wound to the head.

Authorities say they'd been called to the home several times for multiple domestic disturbance issues.

The couple’s younger son, James Jacobson, identified his family members for authorities, including his father, the wife and younger brother as Trent Jacobson, Kathy Jacobson and Jerry Jacobson, 33.

Jacobson said he had a good childhood, but issues between them progressed as his parents got older.

"Since (my father) was so ill, everything bothered him,” Jacobson explained. “I could see it coming, but not this. I could see somebody going to jail but not (this).”

Jacobson said his parents had been together for over 30 years. Married 18.

According to Jacobson, his mother is out of surgery and responsive at a hospital in The Woodlands.

Jerry Jacobson is at Ben Taub hospital in the Medical Center. James Jacobson said he does not know his brother’s condition at this point.
