Cold March temps not unusual for Houston

You might wake up this morning and think the cold temperatures we have in Houston today are unusual. But history says something different.

They are not unprecedented. Eric Berger with Space City Weather tells KTRH News we have seen March temperatures dip into the 30’s and below before.

“It’s a little rare to get your coldest weather in March. But the record low at Bush Intercontinental airport for March 5th is 25 degrees,” Berger said.

In fact, Berger says Houston has seen freezing temperatures beyond March, too.

“Houston has actually experienced freezing temperatures as late as April 10th,” Berger stated.
