Austin is best capitol city in the nation to live

One of the most liberal cities in Texas is ranked number one capitol city in the nation to live in.

WalletHub released its report on 2019's Best State Capitols to Live.

Senior analyst Jill Gonzalez said they looked at 54 factors including economic well-being, quality of education and health and the city's culture.

"Everything from affordability in terms of cost of living, taxation to especially the job market right now in Austin, that has been booming for several years. We're seeing the population grow. We're seeing incomes grow, as well," said Gonzalez.

1 Austin, TX 11 Salt Lake City, UT

2 Boise, ID 12 Columbus, OH

3 Raleigh, NC 13 Oklahoma City, OK

4 Madison, WI 14 Helena, MT

5 Lincoln, NE 15 Phoenix, AZ

6 Bismarck, ND 16 Montpelier, VT

7 Concord, NH 17 Juneau, AK

8 Denver, CO 18 Nashville, TN

9 Cheyenne, WY 19 Olympia, WA

10 Des Moines, IA 20 Pierre, SD

Gonzalez added Austin is only behind Denver, for the highest percentage of Millennial newcomers.

"Fourth highest percentage of adults with a bachelor’s degrees or higher, second lowest premature death rate in the country and it's tied for number one for of most attractions," said Gonzalez.

Rounding out the bottom five: Carson City, Nevada; Charleston, West Virginia; Hartford, Connecticut; Trenton, New Jersey; Jackson, Mississippi; and Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
