Veteran HPD Officer Involved In Deadly Drug Raid Relieved Of Duty

According to KHOU 11 , a veteran HPD narcotics detective involved in last week's deadly drug raid has been temporarily relieved of duty while the department conducts a thorough investigation. Details are unclear, but "ongoing questions" about his role in the drug search warrant and resulting shootout prompted the internal affairs investigation. A statement from Police Chief Art Acevedo makes clear the department's intention to conduct a full investigation before addressing any speculation about the officer involved shooting or the execution of the search warrant.
