(Houston, TX) -- Houston is honoring former President George H.W. Bush. Mayor Sylvester Turner says Bush was one of the city's most esteemed and relatable neighbors who had a deep love for the city. Turner also says Bush and Barbara Bush were boosters of everything Houston and the biggest fans of all the city's sports teams.
The Bushes particularly were fans of the Houston Astros and were known to sit behind home plate at Minute Maid Park on a regular basis. George H.W. Bush also threw out the first pitch for multiple Astros games. He died Friday at the age of 94.
