Texas Leads The Nation In Number Of Uninsured Kids

A new report says Texas again has more uninsured children than any other state, as the nationwide number rises for the first time in ten years.  

Georgetown University released the report on Thursday that said more than one in five uninsured kids in the nation live in Texas, totaling about 835-thousand as of last year.  The number of uninsured children in Texas rose about 83-thousand between 2016 and 2017.  

The report says both the number and the rate of uninsured children in the U.S. have risen for the first time since 2008.
