VIDEO: Father, Son Injured, As He Kills Masked Gunman in Alabama McDonald's

(BIRMINGHAM, Ala.) -- A dad of two exiting a Birmingham, Alabama McDonald's shot and killed a masked gunman who was entering the restaurant simultaneously. 

Authorities say a restaurant employee opened the door to let that father and his two sons leave the restaurant when the gunman entered and began shooting. 

That's when the father went into defense mode and opened fire with his own weapon, fatally striking the gunman. 

The dad and one is his young sons, were shot but are expected to survive. Police say the father will not face charges.

Birmingham police still aren't clear about the motive of the masked gunman. Whether he intended to rob the business or whether he was targeting an employee remains under investigation.
