A source close to the exit talks between Megyn Kelly and NBC tells People that the disgraced morning TV host "wanted to leave anyway."
The only thing left to be figured out by Kelly's legal reps and NBC is the biggest thing of all... the money. How much will she get upon her exit?
The 47-year-old still has two years remaining on her contract with the network. The source adds: “Conversations have begun about her exit from the network,” a second source says. “She’s not sticking around NBC News. It’s unclear when there will be a definitive announcement.”
Will NBC News management be shown the door soon after Kelly? Andy Lack gave Kelly a ton of money when most people felt she wouldn't be a good fit with the network.
After being replaced by Megyn Kelly last year in the 9 AM anchor chair of the Today show on NBC, Al Roker will be returning to that role.
Roker will be part of the team replacing Kelly after she was fired from her role as host of the show late last week for comments related to 'blackface".
According to TMZ, NBC will be going back to using members of Today in the 9 AM hour. Who will be joining Roker? That remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, NBC and Megyn Kelly's legal team are working out the terms of her exit from the Peacock.
