Pumpkin spice calories might make you look like a pumpkin

Have more fruits and veggies.

That should be easy this time of year. Pumpkin sounds healthy, right?

A Consumer Affairs report finds a Starbucks 20-oz Venti Pumpkin Spice Latte with whole milk and whipped cream is 510 calories, 21 grams of fat, and 66 grams of carbs. A regular size Snickers bar = 266 calorie, 110 calories from fat, 20 grams of sugar.

“Which is really a meal and most people do them as snacks. And, God forbid if you have a pumpkin spice latte and a pumpkin muffin at the same time, then you’re eating probably two meals for a snack and that’s not a good recipe,” said healthy living expert Dr. David Barczyk.

He said we’re picking on pumpkin, right now, but these thick frozen flavored drinks are dangerous year round.

“Unless you’re making a pumpkin spice yourself at home and you know exactly what’s going into it, then chances are it’s loaded down with sugar and calories,” said Barczyk.

His book “Wellness Wakeup Call” is available on Amazon.
