MUGSHOT: Inmate On the Run After Escaping Police Custody in Downtown H-Town

The search is on for Khaled Abdelrahman Azzeh, 31, who escaped jail custody early Sunday morning.

Azzeh was already at the Harris County Jail in the middle of downtown Houston and was being walked into the processing area. Authorities say that's when he shoved a lady officer, while still in handcuffs, and took off on foot in a jail uniform.

A jailer from Harris County and Friendswood ran after Azzeh. Local deputies and Houston police officers, including a K-9 unit looked for Azzeh who has not been located.

Azzeh is 6 foot, 200 pounds. He has a tattoo on his shoulder of a star with a skull. A clown with a gun on his back. Another tattoo of a panther on one of his arms.

Azzeh was taken into custody around 4:30 p.m. Saturday when a Friendwood resident said Azzeh was snooping vehicle windows and even getting inside.

Once in Friendswood Police custody, he ran from police and charged with evading arrest. He'd been held and booked into the jail south of Houston in the Friendswood City Jail.

At the time of that arrest, he was already free on a $15,000 bond for felony vehicle theft in Harris County.

Now he is facing a warrant charging Azzeh with escape.

Local authorities advise anyone who sees him, to call 9-1-1.
