(Crosby, TX) -- Crosby school officials say some neighboring districts are already stepping up to offer jobs to some of the 129 employees facing layoffs.
Crosby officials earlier this week announced the layoffs of dozens of teachers, custodians and administrators to shore up a five-million budget shortfall.
But Superintendent Scott Davis reportedly said yesterday that nearby Humble School District has already offered jobs to five of Crosby's elementary school teachers, and he hopes the trend continues.
