Police in El Paso County have arrested a man suspected of gluing shut the eyes and mouth of his 1-year-old daughter.
Johnnie Lee Carter, 29, is being held on charges of injury to a child causing serious bodily injury.
According to authorities, Odessa police, answering a domestic disturbance call on Sept. 16, found the girl with facial injuries and her mouth and eyes glued. The toddler's mother told police that Carter had choked and punched the girl before applying adhesive from a super glue stick, which was found during an investigation.
Carter had fled.
He was arrested at an El Paso motel on Monday and faces extradition to Odessa.
