Former Employee Sues Southwest Airlines Claiming Discrimination

Southwest Airlines at Hobby AIrport in Houston

(Houston, TX)  --  A former Southwest Airlines employee is suing the company over claims of racial discrimination.  Jamel Parker's lawsuit claims the Dallas-based airline treats white and black employees differently, such as firing black employees for infractions for which white employees are only reprimanded.

Parker was reportedly fired for not reporting he'd damaged an electrical cord.  He also claims Southwest let employees create a "whites-only break room" at Hobby Airport.  He says it was finally removed in a recent renovation.
