“Talent deserves opportunity”, says the President of Rice University as David LeBron announces a new program that “dramatically expands scholarships for the middle class. What does it mean? He’s talking full-ride scholarships for low income families of degree-seeking students, full tuition scholarships for incomes between $65,000 and $130,000 and expanded scholarship opportunities to those with family incomes up to $200,000. It’s simply amazing in these days of top flight university educations costing as much as $300,000 or more and students graduating with debt that make take decades to repay.

It’s all because of a financial aid plan titled the Rice Investment, and it’s underwritten and supported by foundations and names you know….many of them local….and a forward-thinking board and first class institution. The Rice Investment is just what the name implies.
