Forecasters And State Agencies Keeping An Eye On Tropical Weather System

(Austin, TX)  --  Texas agencies are gearing up for the state's possible next visit from a tropical storm.

The Texas State Operations Center will move from level 4 (normal conditions) to level 3 (increased readiness) at noon today.

Forecasters say a group of Caribbean thunderstorms has a 60 percent chance of formation over the next five days as it moves into the Gulf.

Meteorologists say it could affect the weather in Southeast Texas this weekend.  Agencies preparing for the possible storm include the DPS, TxDOT, the Red Cross, and the Salvation Army.
