Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh continues to meet with Senators as he prepares for a bruising confirmation process. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said yesterday that he came away from his meeting with Kavanaugh more impressed than he was before. Democrats are plotting an all-out assault on the nomination. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer questioned whether Kavanaugh would be a check on presidential abuse of power. President Trump nominated Kavanaugh to replace retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy. No date has yet been set for the start of the confirmation hearings although the White House is expected to push for the hearings to begin sooner, not later.
