North Texas Congressman Chip Roy is calling on fellow Republicans to make it clear now, before the midterms, they fully intend to secure the border once and for all.

In an op-ed piece, Roy outlined four goals: carryout current enforcement policies, finish the wall, remove all illegals and target the cartels.

It's something he says current Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has no intention of doing.

"When I asked him point blank do we have operation control of the border? He looked at me and said yes. He smirked and said his predecessor would have said the same thing."

"The fact is, one, that's a lie. They don't have operational control. Two, his predecessor never said the same thing," says Roy.

"These jack legs refuse to actually do their job and enforce the law, to follow their oath to faithfully execute the laws and secure the border. It's purposeful and they're undermining our national security in the process."

In an interview with Todd Starnes, Roy said Americans are dying because of Democrats' open border policies.

"There are dead Americans because of fentanyl. There are dead Americans because criminals are able to be in the United States because we have wide open borders and the cartels have operation control of the border," he says.

"We could stop it tomorrow, but they refuse to."

But he says it requires Republicans to "grow a spine" and fight to keep their promises.
