AG says CHL Holders Can Carry in Church

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton says concealed-carry permit holders can take guns into churches that haven't posted signs that say otherwise.

Paxton gave his legal opinion on the matter after Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick requested it earlier this month.

Patrick, who like Paxton is a Republican running for a second term next year, asked for the opinion after last month's shooting at the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs that left 26 people dead, including an unborn child.
