If you're thinking about a new car, this is the best time of year to buy. Nationwide, dealers are trying to clear their 2017 inventory, but in Houston the 2018s are moving, too.
KTRH Car Pro Jerry Reynolds says every December is one to remember.
"I've been in the industry for 35 years; December has always been the best month to get a new car."
Reynolds says Hurricane Harvey has led to a shortage of 2017 models because buyers rushed to replace cars lost to the flooding.
"2017s, especially in Houston are really short in supply so the manufacturers have put the big incentives on the 2018s as well."

"Their inventories cleared of 2017s -- particularly their inventories cleared out really fast, starting in September and continuing into October, but it's true of the entire nation."
Reynolds says dealerships have plenty 2018 models in stock and they're willing to make their best deals right now. But he recommends you actually go to the dealerships to buy -- the best deals are made in person.
