Facebook starts flagging ‘Fake News’, but are they being fair?

Facebook has begun to tag posts that they consider to be ‘fake news’ with a ‘disputed’ tag.

The social media giant says it's keeping in line with their promise to crack down on fake news stories, and Don Hooper at Big Jolly Politics told KTRH it might come off as slightly slanted, especially with President Trump pointing all of this Fake News out during the election.

“Trump turned it around on them during the campaign and it started around the time he won the election; in November,” Hooper said.

Hooper says he has trouble with Facebook judging what's fake and what's real when they hire Politifact and other liberal outlets to help them filter through all of these posts.

“If it would have been Politifact, Snopes, ABC News and Fox that would have been okay because at least you would have had one outlet doing fact checking with a conservative mindset,” Hooper explained.

And as it turns out Facebook can't even tell what a fake page is. The Drudge Report's Matt Drudge Tweeted yesterday that two pages claiming to be his on the site are actually not. They are fake.
