100-gallon chemical spill in South Houston

A chemical spill along Texas Highway 3 had HAZMAT and fire responders on scene Saturday evening.

Officials said around 6:37p.m., a call came in from 2026 Houston Boulevard in South Houston.

One-hundred gallons of hydrochloric acid spilled on the ground from a 4,000-gallon tanker truck. Fire responders were able to fix one of the valves causing the leak.

Still no word on what caused the leak. No one was injured.
