As expected, storms are impacting the Houston area. The power has been knocked out for thousands of CenterPoint customers. At one point that number was over 181,000.

There are reports of damage across the area; a tree crashed through a house in Northwest Harris County. A car hydroplaned into a tree in West Harris County, killing the driver. And there are reports of damage in Montgomery County as well, specifically in Conroe and The Woodlands
Several school districts are also reporting power outages:
- At Spring ISD, Several campuses are experiencing power outages due to overnight storms. Maintenance teams are working with CenterPoint to restore power. School is in session with normal schedules, but bus routes are running behind.
- Humble ISD schools Schools remain open despite power issues at multiple campuses,
- Due to power outages from the weather, Tarkington ISD will operate on a delayed start schedule.
