It's not even Election Day yet, but the Democrats are already preparing their army of lawyers across the country to fight the election results. This could be a sign that Democrats are nervous about their chances.
Conservative attorney and former chairman of the Harris County GOP, Jared Woodfill, told KTRH that the Democrats are preparing for a loss. He said, "The Democrat party can clearly see the writing on the wall. What they're not able to achieve at the ballot box, they're going to try to achieve through litigation, and that's why they're getting their lawyers ready to go."
But that's just the beginning. Woodfill says if the Democrats do wind up losing on November 5th, there will be more than just lawsuits. He said, "We know the Democrats will use rhetoric, language, lawsuits, whatever it takes, to try and get what they want, regardless of whether or not that's the will of the people."
Republicans are also pushing back with their own set of lawsuits, hoping to ensure the election is secure, many of which have already gone to court. That includes a case in Virginia, in which the U.S. Supreme Court recently ruled that Virginia could remove some 1,600 illegal voters from their voter rolls.
Woodfill says things like that are critically important because every illegal vote disenfranchises a legal voter.
Woodfill warned that thanks to all these lawsuits, it could take weeks to get the official and finalized results of the election.
