Toll Roads Are The Latest Example Of Harris County Mismanagement

Harris County citizens shell out big for toll roads, and over the last ten years, toll road revenue has grown from $610 million annually to $896 million. So what does all that money actually get spent on?

METRO board member Alexandra Mealer told KTRH, "Precinct one, which is pretty much the city of Houston, Rodney Ellis, has been using dollars from the toll roads to build bike trails. So it's just kind of going to pet projects."

Mealer says this is just another symptom of the fiscal mismanagement that plagues Harris County. She said, "They are failing at every single mandated task. And then they want to throw some gimmick money at some gun buyback, like here's some cash for a few months to go buy their constituency."

Mealer hopes people take notice of this mismanagement soon and do something about it.
