No matter what side of the isle you are on, we can all definitely agree, that our nation is more divided now than ever.
During last year's election, Joe Biden while bashing Trump, promised unity. Like pretty much every other issue over the last 8 months, he has failed.
"The answer was supposed to be, once President Biden came in office, he would be the peacemaker, he would get us all together" said UH professor and tv personality Jacquie Baly, "But he hasn't done that. As much as Democrats were saying that Donald Trump was the divider, now that he's out of office we're seeing that's not true."
What is true is that the rift in our country is great, and people are unhappy. It's been a rough couple of years, to say the least.
"I try to be optimistic, but these days in politics it's extremely hard" Baly told KTRH, "If we do not have a commander in chief who has the mental capacity to rally the troops, pun intended, it will be very hard for things to calm down."
The 2022 midterms can't get hear soon enough, but until then, the question remains, could we actually have another civil war?
"Will we see a civil war? No" Baly said, "But we may see episodes that are close to it because people are not happy."
There is only so much negativity the human spirit can endure. Baly believes that we need someone who can truly lead, with true unity, to bring the country back together. She says maybe that someone could be Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
