With vaccinations come possibilities, including the possibility of going somewhere far, far away.
As we readjust to the next phase of Covid, with vaccines just beginning to open doors, many people are thinking of travel.
“We are definitely seeing an uptick in travel for 2021,” says Shayla Northcutt, owner of Northcutt Travel in Houston. There is a world of possibilities, with 50 countries now allowing visitors from the U.S. “We’ve seen an uptick in the number of people applying for passports. They want to get them for when they’re ready to travel. We’re seeing a lot of people traveling to Mexico, because there is no testing required to go to Mexico.” Disney World, which has four theme parks open in Florida, is also a top choice.
Cruises are still going to be a challenge for a while, industry experts speculate. Bookings are heavily skewed toward the second half of 2021, and some say interest in cruises for 2022 may be unprecedented. If that’s your choice, you may want to consider making reservations far enough in advance to ensure when you feel safe to venture on the high seas you’ll be able to get what you want.
Currently, for all travel, the two most popular months people are making reservations for are 3Q in September and October.
