All 31 Greenpeace activists are charged with criminal trespass and obstructing a highway, after dangling for hours from the Fred Hartman Bridge in protest on Thursday.
Harris County Sheriff’s officials said 25 were arrested and six others were already wanted on arrest warrants.
The trespassing is a misdemeanor, and obstructing critical infrastructure is a felony.
Last night, Houston and Baytown firefighters rappelled down to the protesters and lowered them to boats waiting in the Houston Ship Channel below.
