Saturday morning Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez is grieving the loss of an unidentified deputy who passed while he was responding to a call in the 7500 block of Stone Pine Lane regarding a stabbing in northwest Harris County. The deputy was taken to Northwest hospital but the Sheriff says doctors were not able to revive him. Police will escort the officer to the Medical Examiner’s office.
In a tweet this morning Sheriff Gonzales wrote: "It is with great sadness that we must report the passing of our deputy. He was out on a stabbing scene this morning when he experienced a medical emergency. He was taken to Northwest Hospital but doctors were unable to revive him. Please keep him and his family in your prayers."
He followed it with this message: "Thank you for the encouragement and prayers. I’ve shared with the family. We are set to begin a cordon in honor and then a police escort from the hospital to the Medical Examiner’s Office. Thanks for the assist @houstonpolice.".
