A new political action committee is the work of former Texas House Speaker Joe Straus.
The PAC, called Texas Forever Forward, describes itself as encouraging "a thoughtful, conservative approach to governing."
Straus is a moderate Republican who occasionally got sideways with Gov. Greg Abbott and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick on key conservative issues during his time as Speaker.
He held the office for ten years, but didn't run for reelection in 2018.
