Lone Star College is getting 100-thousand dollars from Metallica.
The rock band announced the grant, saying it will go towards providing students training so they can be ready to enter the work force.
The cash will specifically help students studying oil and gas, transportation, healthcare, and mechatronics.
Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich says the group wants to help others.
The band is also giving grants to nine other community colleges.
