The churches say the town is charging them excessive fees for water connections since they can’t collect property taxes. Pastor Stephen Burrell of Magnolia Bible Church told Fox News it's nothing more than a money grab.
“They, like other government institutions, are looking to generate revenue,” Burrell told Fox & Friends.
Attorney Jeremy Dys says it puts the church between a rock and a hard place.
“It’s causing to have to make really difficult decisions between how they are going to care for the community and also meet their responsibilities for the city as well,” Dys explained
The town says they haven't been served anything official yet. There is also legislation being talked about to help solve issues like this.
