Texans Look for Championship in Philly

It’s simple math; if they win, they’re in.

The Houston Texans are in Philadelphia today to face the defending Super Bowl Champion Eagles.  Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00pm Central.

A victory in the City of Brotherly Love would secure both the AFC South title and a spot in the playoffs.  A loss would leave the team in a must-win situation against the Jaguars next weekend at NRG Stadium.

The team will be without the services of running back Lamar Miller, who suffered an ankle injury in last week’s win against the Jets.  Miller is 83-yards short of 1,000-yards rushing, a milestone he’s reached two other times in his career.  Second year running back D’Onta Foreman is expected to make his season debut, following rehabilitation of a 2017 tear in his Achilles tendon.

Pro Bowl wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is considered a game time decision.  He is also suffering from an ankle injury.  Fellow wideout Keke Coutee will also miss the game.

In Saturday action, the Baltimore Ravens beat the Los Angeles Chargers 22-10.  Because of the Baltimore victory, the Texans have not yet secured a playoff berth.  The team would also advance to the postseason if the Tennessee Titans lose to Washington today in Nashville.

The Texans have never beaten Philadelphia in the history of the franchise.  The Eagles are a 2.5-point favorite.
