The 100th anniversary of Hermann Park in Houston joins the 21st edition of the Japan Festival this weekend.  Brought to you by the Japan-America Society of Houston, admission is free for your walk into another culture, from shodo (calligraphy), kado (flower arrangement), sado (tea ceremony), to judo, aikido, and kyudo (archery).

A mini Japanese village rises along the reflection pond near the Japanese Garden and performances on 2 stages include martial arts demonstrations, traditional dancing, taiko drumming, and even a J-Country star Aya Uchida.  Ya gotta hear it!

And your kids will tell you all about cosplay and kawaii.  With the sights, the food, festival games and some 20-thousand attending, Houston this weekend goes  “The Way of Japan”.
