Burn, Burn, Burn

Yes, we suspected it...but now a study confirms, eating peppers makes you burn more calories.

Just a bite of the chili pepper can speed up your metabolism to burning an additional 100 calories....for up to 3 hours after eating.

The test was between a nothing pill and a 2 milligram capsule of capsaicin (the hot in chili peppers) with test subjects.  Those who took the hot pill burned on average 116 calories, those with the placebo fewer than 15 calories.

And more reason to call for the spicy….studies show it’s reducing inflammation and that makes it a weapon on everything from arthritis to heart attacks.

In Texas, we feel pretty good eating peppers…literally.  Consuming capsaicin releases hormones like serotonin that boost your good feelings and reduce stress.

So on your next meal, don’t hold the fire.
