A woman faces murder charges in a crash last month that left her seven-year old child dead.
Prosecutors say 29-year old Edith Abrego had her three-children in the car when she smashed into a pole on Maxey Rd July 7. Two of the children, aged four and six, were treated for non-life threatening injuries, but her son was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
Sources say Abrego had three drugs in her system at the time – Xanax, methamphetamine, and amphetamine.
Investigators don’t know whether any of the children were wearing seat belts at the time.
