A local politician is accused of stealing his opponent's signs.

A surveillance camera hidden in a tree captured the images of someone stealing a campaign sign from a street corner off the Southwest Freeway in Meadows Place.

The sign belonged to Kris Allfrey. He's running for Fort Bend County Independent School District Trustee Position 5.

"Well, I put up a second sign and it was gone within 24 hours," said Allfrey.

He had three signs stolen from that intersection.

Local School Board Race Turns Vicious

Allfrey set up a hidden camera because he wanted to see who taking his signs.

"I never expected to see an elected official of any sort on that camera -- especially not a sitting school board member," said Allfrey.

Allfrey said the man on the camera is Bruce Albright who is a current Fort Bend ISD trustee running for reelection.

But Albright is not running against Allfrey.

Removing campaign signs is against the law.
